Swimmer and Parent Conduct Policy

Please read through the following guidelines and statements concerning swimmer and parent conduct. Consider these guidelines our most important "Team Rules". Note that some of the undermentioned policies are intentionally ambiguous; therefore, the written guidelines and spirit which they convey should be followed at all times. We strongly encourage reviewing these guidelines with your swimmer(s) before the start of the season.

  • I will actively practice good sportsmanship.
  • I will have a positive attitude at all swim team practices, meets, and functions.
  • I will "try my best" and pay attention during practice sets and swim meets.
  • I will make swim team practices and meets a priority by arriving at or before the designated times whenever possible.
  • I will respect all coaches, teammates, competitors, parents, officials, lifeguards, and other spectators at all times.
  • I will never argue with an official's judgment and will allow the head coach to handle all meet grievances.
  • SWIMMERS: I will not use any illegal substances or alcohol during the swim season.
  • PARENTS: I will allow the coaching staff to perform their job and will refrain from coaching my swimmer during practices and meets.
  • PARENTS: I understand that by swimming in the Sundance District Meet my swimmer is obligated to swim at the Sundance Championship Meet if they qualify. Moreover, I understand that if my swimmer cannot attend the Sundance Championship Meet, then they will not be entered in the Sundance District Meet.
  • I will direct any concerns or grievances to the head coach either in-person (before or after practices/meets) or via email. In situations where it is not appropriate to direct the aforementioned concerns/grievances to the head coach, the pool manager should be contacted.
  • I will obey Tanoan Country Club facility rules/guidelines and behave appropriately at all times while utilizing Tanoan Country Club facilities (Pool, Clubhouse, Tennis Courts, etc.). Please note that adhering to the club's dress code is classified under appropriate behavior.
